Automated daily backups run using CloudNativePG's integrated backup framework with Barman as the backup tool. Six backup copies are retained by default, providing a week of point-in-time recovery options. Backup schedules and retention counts are configurable per instance. VSHN manages backup scheduling, monitoring, and restore procedures. Deletion protection is available as an additional safeguard against accidental data loss.

VSHN supports PostgreSQL versions 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18. Security patches are applied proactively to all supported versions. Minor version upgrades happen automatically as part of routine maintenance. Major version upgrades are coordinated with your team to verify application compatibility and avoid unexpected breaking changes. End-of-life versions are migrated with advance notice.
